Bernardo Silva to Barcelona – done deal?
As one of the top players in the Premier League, it’s no surprise that Bernardo Silva is being eyed by some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Barcelona has been linked with a move for the Manchester City star, but Pep Guardiola has warned them that they won’t be able to sign him easily.

The manager knows that Silva is a key part of the team and he doesn’t want to lose him, but he also understands that City won’t keep an unhappy player.
If Silva does end up leaving Manchester, it will be because he wants to be closer to his family and he’s looking for a new challenge. Either way, it looks like it will be a difficult summer for Barcelona if they’re serious about signing Silva.
Bernardo Silva has been one of Manchester City’s best players over the past few seasons.
The 27-year-old Portugal international has been a key cog in Pep Guardiola’s midfield, scoring 13 goals and chipping in with seven assists in 50 appearances across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign.
Silva’s future at the Etihad Stadium, however, has come into question as he admitted earlier this year that he requested to leave last summer, only for Guardiola to convince him to stay.
Barcelona are believed to be one of a number of top European clubs who are closely monitoring Silva’s situation, with one report claiming that they have identified the midfielder as a replacement for Frenkie de Jong, who has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
It remains to be seen whether or not Silva will end up leaving City this summer, but it is clear that he is a player of immense talent who would be a valuable addition to any squad.
