‘Leeds will bounce back with all three points’ – Biesla’s Lilywhites looking to get back to winning ways
There’s a Yorkshire derby to keep us entertained on Sunday as Championshop strugglers Barnsley host promotion hopefuls Leeds at Oakwell.
Without a win since the opening day of the season, newly promoted Barnsley look set for a relegation battle. They’ve picked up five points from a possible 18 and sit 21st, just a point off the bottom three.
Four of the five points earned by the Tykes so far this season have come on home soil. Daniel Stendel will be hoping his side can replicate last season’s home form by turning Oakwell into a fortress.
Leeds were given a reality check in their final game before the international break. Bielsa’s side went into their top of the table clash with Swansea unbeaten in the league, a run that looked set to continue until Wayne Routledge scored in the 90th minute condemning Leeds to their first league defeat of the season.
Up until that result they’d won three games on the bounce without conceding and the Whites are 13/8 to beat Barnsley to nil on Sunday.
Pablo Hernandez has been in scintillating form so far this season. He’s been at the heart of Leeds’ fast flowing, attacking play. The Spaniard is 7/4 to score anytime.
Patrick Bamford has four goals to his name so far this season and the striker is 7/2 to open the scoring.
The last time these two sides met at Elland Road the hosts won 2-1. Its 15/2 for a repeat scoreline this weekend.
Despite home advantage Barnsley are 19/4 to bag all three points. The draw is 17/5 and Leeds are as short as 1/2 to pick up a win on the road.
