2020 Major wins: Woods to ‘return to winning ways’ on golf’s biggest stage?

It’s been yet another fascinating year in the world of golf. 2019 ended in dramatic fashion as the US team came from behind to beat the International team 16-14.

Several of the sport’s stars were in attendance, with Tiger Woods returning to his best in Melbourne.

And it looks set to be another exciting year, with the four majors once again the most prolific events throughout the season. From April through until July, all eyes in the golfing world will be fully fixated on four courses across the world.

Up first is the Masters in Augusta, followed by the PGA Championship in New York. Pebble Beach then hosts the US Open, with the British Open in Northern Ireland closing out the major tournaments.

Brooks Koepka leads the world rankings, and he’s 2/1 to win at least one major in 2020. The 29-year-old is 14/1 to win at least two, and 90/1 to win at least three.

But he will have stern competition from countless other professionals. Rory McIlroy will be looking to secure that number one spot from his rival, and he’s 7/4 to win at least one of the majors next year. The Northern Irishman is 12/1 to win two or more, and 80/1 to win at least three.

Also in the running to compete on all fronts in 2020 will be world number three Jon Rahm. The Spaniard had a fantastic year, and is currently 11/4 to clinch at least one major next time. He’s 20/1 to make it two or more, and 100/1 to win three or more.

And Justin Thomas certainly won’t be far off. The American will be looking to climb the world rankings, and is available at 10/3 to do that by winning at least one major next year. He’s currently 50/1 to clinch at least two.

His fellow countryman Dustin Johnson is currently 5/2 to win one or more and 18/1 to win two or more. Another American in Bryson DeChambeau will also be there come the final rounds of the majors, and he’s 15/2 to win at least one of those.

Italian Francesco Molinari is available at 7/1 to secure one or more major titles.

And finally, with a stunning finish to 2019, Woods is back in contention for silverware next year. The serial winner is 4/1 to end 2020 with at least one major to his name. And he’s 20/1 to end it with at least two.
